Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Update Introduces Character From Next Game

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

The final update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has arrived a week earlier and contains a quest featuring a character who is to be part of the next game in the series. The Last Chapter expansion was supposed to release on December 6 but is available to download right now.

The free DLC features a quest titled Shared History that has protagonist Eivor Varinsdottir teaming up with Roshan, a character who will form part of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. She is apparently a mentor to Basim, the protagonist of the upcoming game.

Fans were looking forward to December 6 for playing the Last Chapter but were pleasantly surprised when it was released a week early. Ubisoft said in a tweet, “Due to an unforeseen glitch in the Animus, the final content update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has arrived early in Ravensthorpe.”

With all the content for the game done with, Ubisoft’s next big release is Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which was announced in September. It’s being developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and promises to go back to the franchise’s roots in terms of gameplay.

This means the game will have fewer RPG elements like the ones in the newer games from the series. Instead, it will focus on action-adventure and stealth and feature a linear story.

As for the setting, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will take place in 9th-century Baghdad, during the Islamic Golden Age. It will follow the exploits of Basim Ibn Ishaq, who has also made an appearance in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

At the moment, Ubisoft is also working on Assassin’s Creed Codename Red set in feudal Japan and Assassin’s Creed Codename Hex, which might feature some sort of witchcraft. Both are part of a new platform called Infinity that will act as a hub for future games from the series.
