Diablo III Release Date Finally Announced

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s here at last – an official Diablo III release date. The title will be seen hitting PC and Mac on May 15. Fans waiting to lay their hands on this extremely anticipated game can start pre-ordering their digital copies from Blizzard’s Battle.net website.

On May 15, the game will be launched in the U.S., Canada, Europe, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. Those residing in these territories as well as in Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Brazil will be the only ones who can buy the digital version of the title. June 7 will mark the date of this offering being released in Latin American countries and Russia via both retail as well as digital copies.

Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment, revealed, “After many years of hard work by our development team and months of beta testing by hundreds of thousands of dedicated players around the world, we’re now in the homestretch. We look forward to putting the final polish on Diablo III over the next two months and delivering the ultimate action-RPG experience to gamers worldwide starting on May 15.”

Moreover, World of Warcraft players can avail themselves of a free copy of this game, if they decide to purchase a one year subscription of WoW. Free digital copies of the RPG will be doled out to these gamers along with other incentives like an exclusive WoW in-game mount and access to the Mists of Pandaria beta test. This offer will remain valid only till May 1, 2012.

Both PC and Mac versions of Diablo III will be outed on May 15. The game will be priced at 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,020), while its Collector’s Edition will be purchasable at 99.99 USD (approx. Rs. 5,040).
