God Of War Art

The God of War reboot came out in 2018 and if you played it back then, you’d surely need a refresher on what transpired in the realm of Midgard. Ahead of the release of its sequel in November, the makers have unveiled a new trailer to get you up to speed with the story.

Actor Felicia Day has been roped in for this 7-minute video, which features exquisite art from the first game. The character of Mimir, played by Alastair Duncan, also makes an appearance in this trailer, with his trademark quips.

The story of the rebooted God of War series is loosely inspired by Norse mythology and features two protagonists in the form of Kratos and his son Atreus. Following the death of Kratos’ second wife, they both set out to spread her ashes at the highest peak of the nine realms.

The combat saw some major changes from the previous entries in the series. Primarily, the signature double-chained blades of Kratos have made way for a magical battle axe. Various RPG elements have also been incorporated by the makers.

God of War Ragnarok will take the story forward this year and serve as a finale to the Norse era of the series. With the prophesied end of the world looming, Kratos and Atreus set out into nine realms to seek out a means to prevent Ragnarok.

The game was originally scheduled to release in 2021 but delays caused by the pandemic led to its launch being moved into 2022. It will now be arriving on November 9 for the PS4 and the PS5. The earlier version eventually made its way to PC so the possibility of the same happening with this version cannot be ruled out.
