Ghost of Tsushima Will Be Payable At 60fps On PS5

Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima developer Sucker Punch has confirmed that the game will be playable at 60fps on the PS5. The team has also made it known that it will be made available for the next-gen console on day one via backward compatibility. Additionally, it has been revealed that gamers will be able to transfer their saves from the PS4 to the PS5, allowing them to pick up where they left off on the old console.

The 60fps play on the PS5 will be made possible by the Game Boost technology onboard the console. Although the PS4 Pro is capable of delivering 60fps gameplay, the Sucker Punch had capped it at 30fps keeping in mind the performance issues that would have arisen otherwise. The developer said in a tweet, “PS5 owners playing with Game Boost will see an extra option to allow frame rates up to 60FPS, and while loading speeds on the PS4 are already great, just wait until you see them on the PS5!”

Ghost of Tsushima was released in July this year as an open-world action-adventure set during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. Along with a host of other titles, it will be playable on the PS5 from day one of the console’s launch. North America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea will get the next-gen machine on November 12, while its release in other countries will take place on November 19.

Sony has also announced the PS Plus Collection, which will offer a host of “generation-defining” games for free for all PS5 users who have a Plus membership. The games include God of War, Fallout 4, The Last of Us Remastered, Persona 5, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Until Dawn, Infamous: Second Son, and many more.

If you own Ghost of Tsushima on a disc, you’ll be able to play it with the same disc on the PS5.
