Much awaited GTA 5 Redux mod gets released, controversy follows

Redux is a new mod for GTA 5 which has been created with an aim of giving the game a total visual overhaul to make it look even more attractive than it already is. No sooner had it released on the web yesterday, than a controversy erupted in the title’s dedicated community.

This mod has been created for GTA 5 by Josh Romito, and it enhances the title’s visuals by adding a fresh weather system, 4K textures, visual effects and much more. However, according to messages posted on the GTA forums, this stuff has been stolen by Romito from a mod named VisualV released last year.

To give credibility to the accusations, various posters on the GTA forums have compared the codes of both the mods side by side. Despite all this, Redux still remains available for download for all those who want to enhance the visuals of their GTA 5 copies.

It’s actually much more than a graphics-enhancing mod. It has been blessed with a tweaked wanted system as well, apart from changes in the way various weapons work. Plus, changes have also made their way into vehicle handling and police and pedestrian behavior.
