Total War: Warhammer gets an April release date

Total War: Warhammer might be awkward to pronounce but for fans of both the franchises of which it is a mash up, it’s the most anticipated game right now. They’ll be delighted to know that the title has finally been granted a release date, that of April 28, 2016. It’ll of course only be launched for PC.

For those unaware, Total War is a series that has given us tons of awesome strategy games in the past, whereas the wider-known Warhammer franchise is famous for its table top offerings. Announced in April this year, the game is supposed to be part of a pre-planned trilogy.

It will feature gameplay from the Total War series, while incorporating factions from the Warhammer series. Under development from The Creative Assembly, this title is all set to offer turn-based strategy battles laced with real-time tactics elements.

Those who decide to pre-order Total War: Warhammer will be provided with the Chaos Warriors Race Pack which adds three new playable Legendary Lords, thus allowing you to select the Chaos Warriors as your race in the Grand Campaign. Standard, limited and collector’s editions of the game will be on offer as usual.

While the first one among the three will come with a copy of the game and nothing else, the limited edition will ship with steelbook packaging and a printed strategy guide. But the game’s High King Edition is what is grabbing all the attention of its fans.

It will be housed by a case modeled on the Book of Grudges from the Warhammer lore. It will contain a Grudge ring, a Whetstone Pendant, a Dwarfen Drinking Horn, a Canvas Map, an integrated art book as well as the steelbook, guide and Chaos Warriors Race Pack, apart from the game of course.

Like we said, Total War: Warhammer is scheduled for an April 28 release worldwide for PC.
