Consoles Do not Threaten PC Gaming: Nvidia VP Roy Taylor

There has always been a debate as to what is better, gaming on PC or gaming on consoles. Earlier this year, Cliffy B had said that PC gaming is in disarray. But there are some people who still feel PC gaming has a future. Nvidia boss Roy Taylor is of the view that console do not threaten PC gaming.

Roy Taylor is the vice president of content business development at Nvidia. He told Eurogamer.net in an interview, “I think we have to face the facts, the value of consoles is such that no-one is going to make a PC-exclusive game in the future. Why would they? Why would they ignore consoles? That said, PC gaming is changing and consoles don’t threaten PC gaming. They are just different. Adapting to that and understanding that is what I think is really, really important.”

Taylor pointed out that most PC gamers also own consoles. He mentioned that the gaming companies who develop games for Xbox 360 not only do it for the PS3 but also for the PC platform. Roy Taylor gave examples of games like Gears of War and Assassin’s Creed and noted that the PC version was better.
