PC Gaming is in Disarray: Cliffy B

Many things have been said about PC gaming. Some are in favor of it, while the rest are not. Now one of the most well known members of the gaming industry has also voiced his opinion for PC gaming. Cliff Bleszinski, who is the lead designer at Epic Games, has said that the PC gaming is just in disarray.

Cliffy B, PC Gaming in Disarray

Cliffy B spoke to MTV Multiplayer Blog and said, “I think people would rather make a game that sells 4.5 million copies than a million and Gears is at 4.5 million right now on the 360. I think the PC is just in disarray… what’s driving the PC right now is ‘Sims’-type games and ‘WoW’ and a lot of stuff that’s in a web-based interface. You just click on it and play it. That’s the direction PC is evolving into. So for me, the PC is kind of the secondary part of what we’re doing. It’s important for us, but right now making AAA games on consoles is where we are at.”

Gears of War is an amazing game. Though the title was originally touted as an exclusive for the Xbox 360, it eventually came on the PC. It is a known fact that there are more PCs than consoles. However, one place where PC gaming takes a back seat is that most of the games, especially action and shooter titles require expensive, newer graphic cards. But game developers will have to find out a way to overcome this problem.
