Pure – Extreme Off-Road Racing Game Unveiled by Disney

Disney has a history of coming out with really entertaining stuff. They make great movies and are also churning out decent video games. Now Disney Interactive Studios has announced a new extreme sports and off-road, quad racing video game. Called as Pure, it will let gamers experience gravity-defying aerial tricks as well as compete against skilled rivals.

Pure is a game that Disney touts will take quad racing to a new level. The game includes vertigo-inducing massive aerial jumps in real-world quad locations. It features extravagant airborne tricks along with enormous jumps. The off-road racing title has an assortment of male and female character riders. Gamers can choose to either race against nifty A.I. opponents or online players. It has a 16-player multiplayer and gamers can compete in freestyle competitions as well as frantic races all over the world.

Jason Avent is the game director at Black Rock Studio. He explains, “Black Rock Studio has established itself as a leading developer of racing video games and we expect to continue that heritage with the creation of Pure, our first game since becoming part of Disney Interactive Studios. Pure combines the best features of both extreme sports and racing to produce an astonishing and unique experience.”

Pure will appeal to a wide audience based on the game’s jaw-dropping aerial tricks, fast racing and vast environments.”

Pure is being developed by Black Rock Studio in Brighton, England. It will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms in Autumn 2008. Is Disney trying to come up with its own version of MotorStorm, well, it seems so! But in terms of the experience, we will have to wait for the launch of Pure.
