Jack Thompson Agrees Not to Sue Take-Two

Last month, we had reported how Take-Two sued lawyer Jack Thompson so that he could not stop their games from releasing. This resulted in Thompson counter-suing Take-Two. It was speculated that the court battle could go on for many, many years. However, both the parties have now buried the hatchet.

Jack Thompson Agrees not to Sue Take-Two

Thompson, who is a lawyer from Florida, has agreed that he will not hamper the sales of Take-Two’s games or threaten to take legal action against the company through any court worldwide. This was a part of a settlement filed by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

However, John ‘Jack’ Thompson has said, “The agreement does not provide that I not be critical of the company and of its game releases. All it says is that I have agreed not to sue to try to stop the release of games or to contact retailers to try to get them not to sell.”

Previously Jack Thompson has tried to stop many games of Take-Two from releasing and he egged Senator Hillary Clinton in her press conference where she had stated that there should be legislation against sales of video games to minors. Nevertheless, from the above comments, it seems that he will not make things easy for Take-Two. He still has the right to stand for any person who wishes to sue Take-Two.
