The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD gets a Wii U release date

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, a Wii U remake of the classic GameCube title will set sail for retail stores on October 4 in both North America as well as Europe. This news was revealed by Nintendo through its latest Direct broadcast, in which it also talked about a number of other titles that are slated to hit its devices.

It was in January this year that the Japanese company first revealed this classic to be preparing for a Wii U debut a decade after its original launch. Back then, it had received immense acclaim from critics and gamers alike, and that’s the reason why there’s so much of anticipation surrounding its remake. Moreover, the Wii U which is struggling in the market right now should hope to gain a lot of steam following its arrival.

The Nintendo Direct broadcast which saw the announcement of the Zelda release date also comprised of news about a free Animal Crossing Plaza app for Wii U. Another big revelation came in the form of a launch date for Sonic Lost World on the 3DS and the Wii U which is slated for August 9.

Nintendo even showcased some gameplay from its upcoming 3DS title, Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. This much awaited game still remains without a release date, but it should be out sometime in November this year, according to an earlier announcement.

Those awaiting The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD will be happy to know that Nintendo is apparently planning to also release it as part of a Wii U bundle. This is a rumor which is yet to receive official confirmation however.
