Nintendo Wii U price starts at 299.99 USD, now available in North America

The Nintendo Wii U console, the company’s idea of next-gen gaming, has finally been released in North America with its price starting at 299.99 USD. This hardware is now being sold in the region in the form of two bundles, and has over 30 launch-day games that are aimed at exhibiting its capabilities. It will be released in European territories and in Australia on November 30, whereas its Japanese launch is planned for December 8.

Console

One of the two bundles in which the product is being sold is called the Basic Set. It will kick in a white colored console of 8 GB internal storage, apart from of course a white colored touchscreen GamePad controller which is the main attraction of the new release. Moreover, the bundle will also come equipped with AC adapters for the console and the controller, a sensor bar like the one seen on the Wii and an HDMI cable.

Black Harware

On the other hand, the Deluxe Set of the Wii U will have its components colored in black. All the things comprised in the Basic Set will be doled out with it, but extras like a copy of Nintendo Land, increased internal storage of 32 GB, a console stand, a GamePad stand and a GamePad charging cradle will be thrown into the mix as well. Moreover, those who purchase this set will automatically be enrolled into the Deluxe Digital Promotion, which is aimed at granting gamers additional goodies for buying tittles via the console’s eShop.

The wireless GamePad controller of the new product features a 6.2-inch touchscreen as well as dual analog sticks and buttons with the traditional Nintendo layout. A PS Home-like service called Miiverse will also be accompanying it, along with features like Video on Demand and Nintendo TVii which will be made accessible in the coming weeks. The console has also been granted a video chat functionality which can be utilized with the GamePad’s built-in camera. And there’s also a proprietary browser which lets users surf the internet using the GamePad.

The Basic Set of the Nintendo Wii U can now be bought in North America at a price of 299.99 USD (approx. Rs. 16,500). The Deluxe Set on the other hand, goes for 349.99 USD (approx. Rs. 19,255).
