Come November 18, and gamers in the U.K. would be able to lay their hands on the black colored Mario Kart Wii bundle which comprises a newly-configured black Wii console, a black Wii Wheel and a copy of Mario Kart Wii. As reported by us in August, the newly configured Wii console does away with backwards compatibility, which means that it would no longer be able to play GameCube discs. Moreover, its orientation also changes as the new console will sit horizontally rather than standing upright like the current version. However, Nintendo has confirmed that the newly configured Wii will be of the same size as the previous one.

Released in 2008, Mario Kart Wii allows a maximum of 12 gamers to race simultaneously using the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. A sixth installment in the Mario Kart series, this title uses the Wii Wheel accessory to control in-game racers. The Wii Remote can be placed on this accessory, turning it into a steering wheel for the game’s karts.

This Wii bundle should not be mistaken for the Black Wii Holiday bundle which is currently available for purchase in the U.S. A similar blue colored Wii bundle is also lined up for release in Europe on November 18. This pack includes the newly configured blue Wii console along with blue Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk controllers and a copy of Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The black colored Mario Kart Wii bundle will be launched in the U.K. on November 18, 2011. It can currently be pre-ordered at a price of 129.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 10,207).
