Nintendo has apparently confirmed to Eurogamer that such a bundle is indeed on its way to European markets. The Japanese corporation also revealed to the website that more such packs would also be unveiled this autumn. The Wii console which is to be included in this bundle is a newly configured version of the earlier one that was unveiled by the company in August this year. This console does not feature backward compatibility which means that it cannot play GameCube CDs.

A third installment in the series of such games, Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games has been developed by Sega. It is scheduled to be release next month for the Wii, whereas its 3DS version will be outed next year. The game includes single player as well as multiplayer modes where players can assume roles of Nintendo or Sega characters to compete in events based on the Olympic Games. New events like soccer, badminton, and equestrian will be introduced to the franchise alongside existing ones like athletics, aquatics, and table tennis.
