Nintendo has announced in the U.S. a Black Wii Holiday bundle which will be offered to gamers in the country from October 23, 2011. This pack will comprise the newly configured Wii console, a copy of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, a Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack CD, a black Wii Remote Plus controller and a black Nunchuk controller.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii, which is a side-scrolling platformer, was released for the console by Nintendo in 2009.The Japanese company claims the game to have sold over 20 million copies worldwide. Also included in the bundle is The Super Mario Galaxy music CD which consists of selected tracks from the popular game. This soundtrack will not be sold separately.
The Black Wii Holiday bundle will kick in the newly configured Wii console that features horizontal orientation rather than vertical. Moreover, it does away with backward compatibility which means that the console would not be able to support GameCube CDs and accessories.
It was only a few days back that Nintendo unveiled for European markets, the Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games Wii bundle which includes the game, a blue colored Wii console and blue Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk controllers. This pack will be launched on November 18, 2011.
This holiday season looks a busy one for Nintendo even as one of its biggest titles yet, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is gearing up to launch on November 20. It can currently be pre-ordered for the Wii at a price of 49.99 USD (approx Rs. 2,467).
The Black Wii Holiday bundle which is planned for an October 23 release date has been announced by Nintendo to be priced at 149.99 USD (approx Rs. 7,402).
