New Game Accessory uDraw GameTablet for Wii to Release this Holiday Season

Gamers who like immersing in the world of video games with their friends and family on the Wii can now include a new accessory for their gaming sessions. THQ has recently announced that an innovative new hardware device called uDraw GameTablet will soon hit stores in the US for the Wii.

THQ Chief Executive Officer Brian Farrell, remarked, “The uDraw GameTablet is designed to target consumers of all ages this holiday season with a compelling price point and familiar drawing-inspired gameplay mechanic that has been enhanced for today’s tech-savvy families.”

This tablet has been enclosed with a new title dubbed as uDraw Studio, which is said to be a drawing, coloring-based video game. Featuring tilt-and-roll movement options, this white handheld device offers a 4 x 6 inch drawing space along with a separable, pressure sensitive stylus. This new tablet enables players to easily interact and manage in-game characters by simply moving and directing these elements through different levels in the game.

“We are impressed with THQ’s innovative design and focus on bringing a new gameplay experience to the Wii owner with their uDraw GameTablet. Nintendo is committed to providing fun and unique experiences and THQ’s uDraw GameTablet seems destined to continue that trend,” enthused Steve Singer, Vice-President of Licensing for Nintendo of America.

The structure of the device incorporates space for the Wii Remote that also powers the tablet. It capacitates sufficient storage area which can easily accommodate the strap of the remote as well as the stylus. Besides, a slot for SD card will allow players to store and print their drawings and other creations.

“We’ve designed the uDraw GameTablet to offer something for everyone: the kids can doodle, save their creations on an SD-Card and print their artwork for display on the refrigerator. Students can improve their skills through in-game tutorial lessons,” elaborated Martin Good, Executive Vice President, THQ Kids, Family, Casual Games and Global Online Services. “And the whole family can sit down together for family game time with products like Pictionary.”

This offering will also come handy for titles such as Pictionary and Dood’s Big Adventure which will be soon released for the platform. The former entails quick sketching and wild guesses as gamers rotate their canvasses, take on one-line challenges and play through several modes. Whereas in the latter, players will not only create characters and background art but also steer way for their Dood through 60 levels in four gameplay modes.

The uDraw GameTablet will arrive this holiday season along with uDraw Studio for an estimated price of 69.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,259) while Pictionary and Dood’s Big Adventure are expected to release on the same date and will be available for a price of 29.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,396) each.
