EA greets the holiday cheer with Hasbro Family Game Night 2

Hasbro Family Game Night released last year for the PS2 and Wii by EA. As the game suggest, this family game comprised of six mini games based on Hasbro board titles like Boggle, Battleship and Yahtzee. Just in time for the holidays, the Play Label of EA unveils the game’s sequel dubbed as Hasbro Family Game Night 2 for the Wii. The company also offers players fun while on the go by revealing four games on the Nintendo DS.

Hasbro Family Game Night 2 comprises of five well-loved titles including Connect 4X4, Bop It, Operation, Pictureka and Jenga. Now featuring on the console platform, the latest sequel can be played with up to four players either in the original gameplay or new modes. These modes consist of Jenga Chance Blocks the escaping blocks get hammered by players or Bomb Blocks where gamers must remove these blocks before they blow up.

Chip Lange, Vice President and General Manager of EA’s Hasbro Division explained, “EA is committed to bringing friends and families together around the TV for engaging, wholesome interactive entertainment. With Hasbro Family Game Night 2, we’ve added some great game experiences to our line-up that range from a zany GameShow mode to addicting family classics like Operation, Bop It and Pictureka. We’re sure Hasbro Family Game Night 2 will provide lasting memories and enjoyable times this holiday season.”

Also introduced into this family game is a GameShow Party mode. Here players are put in front of an in-game studio audience as part of a live GameShow. The show is hosted my the lovable Mr. Potato Head and the contestants are the players’ own Wii Mii characters who must spin the Challenge Wheel to settle on which game to play.

Besides the line-up of exciting family-oriented titles, Hasbro Family Game Night 2 also enables gamers to opt for new environments and also have a little fun by customizing Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head with many unlockable themes at their disposal like Wild West and Tokyo Gamer. Players will be at logger heads with each other in order to acquire the coveted Gold Potato trophy.

Nintendo DS owners can now carry the fun along with them as the company releases Hasbro Family Game Night for the portable console. The four titles featured in the game are Bop It, Connect 4, Operation and Battleship. The DS version too enables players to engage in traditional play as well as new fun modes. Connect 4 Power Chips allows players to avail of the Double Chip that raises the score to twice its value and the Bomb Chip which eliminates the adjacent chips. There are also many new environments to be unlocked and trophies to be won. The Nintendo DS title boasts of wireless and/or single-cart multi-player fun.

Hasbro Family Game Night 2 for the Wii can be purchased for a price of $39.99 (approx. Rs.1,895) while the Nintendo DS version namely Hasbro Family Game Night can be acquired for $29.99 (approx. Rs.1,422).
