2K Sports has announced that Baseball Blast! will release exclusively for the Nintendo Wii this fall. It is the first and only officially licensed Major League Baseball mini-game and will test a player’s baseball abilities across several game modes featuring skill challenges, trivia matches and puzzles. Baseball Blast! will showcase current baseball stars and all the MLB teams in addition to play-by-play commentary by Bob Uecker and Rob Dibble.
“Baseball Blast! is the ultimate sports party game that will provide endless amounts of fun and entertainment for fans of all ages. While playing with family or competing against friends, everyone will enjoy the wacky themed mini-games that deliver an exciting new baseball experience,” commented Greg Thomas, senior vice president of sports development for 2K.
Galaxy Ball, Carni-ball, Fly Ball Fury, Pennant Race, Power Pitcher, Bumper Base are just some of the 20 unique baseball-themed mini-games on offer. Gamers can steal bases on a field inside the Rock prison, hit cannonballs back at pirates and hit homeruns that send the ball across planets. Points unlock new puzzles and trophies while strategy cards will help players to compete in a bonus game against friends and family. The trivia mode will include over 100 questions ranging from easy to extremely hard ones that will baffle even the most ardent of baseball fans.
