The Saboteur Hitting Stores This December

The Saboteur is the eagerly anticipated upcoming third person shooter set in the time of World War II. The action adventure game has already won numerous art awards and has been appreciated by critics for its vivid presentation style and engaging storyline. Now, Pandemic Studios has announced that the sandbox action game will be available globally this December.

The Saboteur

“The Saboteur is an entirely new take on WWII action gaming. Instead of putting players in the role of a soldier, they’ll experience one man’s quest for vengeance through an incredible story and an epic range of explosive action. Every street of Paris is alive with options, every block is teeming with action. We’re extremely proud of The Saboteur. The art style, intense story, and grand acts of defiance against the Nazis will deliver the one-of-a-kind experience that Pandemic fans have been waiting for.” stated Josh Resnick, President of Pandemic Studios.

The Saboteur is inspired by a true story. Its protagonist is a street-smart Irish race car driver known as Sean Devlin who is trapped in 1940s Nazi-occupied France. The hero roams through the streets of Paris as he tries to settle a personal grudge by infiltrating and sabotaging Nazi operations. A combination of accurate British intelligence, help from the French Resistance, a stock of hard hitting weapons, loads of street smartness and brute strength helps Sean overcome the obstacles in his treacherous path.

When citizens are oppressed, the novel ‘Will to Fight’ feature will show a dark and gloomy Paris and when the citizens start fighting back, a bright and pleasant world is portrayed. Sean has to derail trains, scale Parisian landmarks and destroy zeppelins all in a bid to inspire the citizens of Paris to rise against the Third Reich. Colour gradually returns to the black and white game environments as the player successfully executes acts of sabotage against enemy forces.

The Saboteur is expected to hit store shelves across the world on December 8, 2009. The stealth game will be available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, while exact details about the price have not been mentioned.
