Nintendo eShop to Open this June for 3DS

It’s been quite some months since the 3DS made a grand entry into the gaming scene. Previously, Nintendo announced that titles in the device’s gallery will be supplemented by the eShop. It has now been revealed that the 3DS system update introducing the eShop will be out on June 6, 2011 in North America.

Offering access to a wide array of games for the 3DS, the Nintendo eShop has been developed to extend numerous titles. Gamers will have the choice to surf and procure downloadable content on the handheld system. To access this feature, players can download the free update through a wireless broadband Internet connection.

This firmware upgrade is expected to deliver innovative features and other enhancements like an Internet browser. Initially, it was touted to surface in the latter half of this month with the inclusion of the aforesaid content. The reason for this delay are not known yet.

The upcoming 3DS firmware update bringing the Nintendo eShop has been scheduled to release on June 6, 2011. Its Japanese release date is apparently affixed for June 7, 2011.
