Nintendo’s Miitomo is its first ever smartphone game

Nintendo has for the first time spoken about the game with which it will be making its foray into the smartphone gaming arena. The title is named Miitomo, and as is being suggested, it will have something to do with your Mii avatars.

Sure, this is something completely unexpected, but Nintendo does have the habit of surprising us with great games, meaning that Miitomo may be a pretty nice game in reality. As you may have guessed, we have as very small amount of information about this offering right now.

Firstly, don’t expect to play it anytime soon, as it’s slated for a release in March 2016. The concept is that the Mii avatars you create will chat with those of your friends, and reveal information about you that you wish to share.

Miitomo

Miitomo has been revealed to be a ‘free-to-start’ game. No prizes for guessing then that micro-transactions will indeed form part of it when it’s out. As Eurogamer has predicted, they will be used for letting you purchase extras like clothes and accessories for your Mii avatars.

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima has revealed that that Miitomo has been created to be sort of a ‘friendly communication starter’ which will have your Mii avatar automatically provide the answers you gave to certain questions to your friends. That means your Mii will be doing the talking for you most of the times. This could also result in you finding out unknown things about your friends through their Mii.
