Jet Set Radio Hitting iOS and Android as well

After announcing the game for PSN, Xbox Live and PC, and later for the PS Vita, Sega has gone a step further and revealed that a mobile version of Jet Set Radio will also be made available for iOS and Android devices. This game is a high-definition port of the original Dreamcast title which is known to have spearheaded the use of cel-shaded graphics in video games.

Apart from its much loved gameplay, soundtrack and art style, fans of the original will also be able to indulge in various mobile-specific traits. These include OpenFeint support and Retina display compatibility. Moreover, the mobile version will even proffer players with the ability make use of pictures taken with their phone or tablet’s as in-game graffiti. Achievements will even be available to upload on Facebook while playing the title.

“Traverse Shibuya terminal on the train, silence the Love Shockers on your lunch break, blast through Benten-cho while boarding a bus and upload achievements to Facebook while riding a ferry; Jet Set Radio will be a dream come true for portable gamers everywhere!” read a post on Sega’s official blog.

Originally released for the Dreamcast console, the title first came out in 2000, following which a sequel named Jet Set Radio Future was also launched two years later for the Xbox. The HD version of this yesteryear game was revealed in February this year.

With this announcement, it has been confirmed that Jet Set Radio will be released as a downloadable game for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS Vita as well as iOS and Android this summer.
