New Super Mario Bros. 2 Downloads will net in Double the Nintendo Club coins

Looks like Nintendo wants fans to get New Super Mario Bros. 2 via the eShop instead of purchasing its retail copies. That’s because the publisher’s recent revelation points out that those who download the title instead of buying physical copies will be rewarded with double the number of Nintendo Club coins than the others.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 Club Coins

This is all set to be the first game ever to be made available in stores as well as via the eShop for the 3DS. And the offer is being commenced by Nintendo in order to celebrate this milestone. Those who use the eShop to gain copies of the game will receive 100 Nintendo Club coins, while others will be granted half as much. For those unaware of this service, it allows for each Nintendo game to be registered in exchange of a certain amount of coins that are redeemable against a number of different rewards.

Gamers planning to avail of the offer must make sure first that they link their Club Nintendo account before they download the title. They can then purchase it directly from the eShop or buy a download code at retail, following which they should enter the code on the Club Nintendo website. Lastly, a registration survey will need to be taken to earn the 100 coins. It is necessarily to complete this process before September 20, 2012 however.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 is all set to launch along with the 3DS XL on August 18. It is expected to be priced at retail as well as on the eShop at 39.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,215).
