Bad Piggies gameplay Details Revealed with Trailer

Bad Piggies is the new game from Angry Birds-maker Rovio which will not feature the said series’ traditional slingshot gameplay. Along with launching the title’s first trailer, the developer has also disclosed that this upcoming game enables players to build contraptions for the pigs who’re out to steal more eggs. This model resembles that of another one of Rovio’s recent releases – Amazing Alex.

The Yahoo! Games blog has received fresh details about the game from its creators, who’ve also released a trailer showcasing all the things gamers will be able to do within the title. They will be allowed to build vehicles, flying machines as well as jalopies with the use of different items. For building these contraptions, they will be provided with a blueprint mode which will enable them to drag and drop parts quickly and easily.

Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games at Rovio told the blog, “As far as the gameplay goes, Bad Piggies and Angry Birds are complete opposites. Angry Birds smash things up, Bad Piggies build stuff. The pigs are all about making plans and building things, even — and especially — when they don’t work!”

The ‘three-star’ scoring which is a staple of Rovio’s games will also be present in this game which acts as a spin-off to the Angry Birds series. But rather than putting the birds in control of the situation, this one lets players step into the shoes of the pigs giving them a chance to avenge their defeats.

Bad Piggies will be launched for iOS, Android and Mac on September 27, 2012, while its Windows Phone, Windows 8 and PC releases will take place later on.
