Rock Band DLC sale puts tracks at 50 percent off this week

Celebrating the launch of Rock Band Blitz and the upcoming 5-year anniversary of the series, Harmonix has announced that a huge number of songs available in the Rock Band library will be going on sale and will be made available at half price this week.

The developer has been diligently releasing tracks into its library for over 250 weeks to be used in its various Rock Band video games. And as might be fathomed, the number of songs available has since grown overwhelmingly large. The singles and their associated packs will come for 50 percent off their regular price, making a great pickup for fans looking to expand their Rock Band music library.

Artists whose songs are feature in the promotion include Pearl Jam, Motley Crue, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Iron Maiden, Guns N’ Roses, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, The Foo Fighters, R.E.M., Lady Gaga, Otis Redding, Megadeth, Alice Cooper, Wolfmother, Miley Cyrus, Alice in Chains, Nickelback, and many more.

The sale covers all platforms and over 1,100 songs which are available in the tailored music store will be made available. But it should be known that the sale is applicable specifically for DLC which was released before Rock Band 3. Almost all of the pre RB3 content is included, except those singles which are already $0.99 and packs which comprise of these $0.99 singles.

The discounted rates for Rock Band DLC are scheduled to hit the Xbox 360 worldwide today. Nintendo and Sony America are also expected to update their prices today, while Sony Europe will update prices tomorrow.
