As gamers digested the Game Update 6, DC Universe Online has announced the upcoming launch of Lightening Strikes which is noted to be the title’s second downloadable content pack. This unveiling will present players with the eight power set dubbed as Electricity Powers as well as a new adventure that features The Flash as its protagonist. The pack will be released simultaneously on Windows PC and PS3 systems.
Additionally, gamers will be able to get their hands on The Flash-themed content and characters along with new features and maps. The Central City map brings forth an open world experience complete with solo and group missions. Through The Flash Museum Duo, they can zip back in time to witness Barry Allen take on the role as The Flash and fight within the confines of the Central City Police Station.
“In this DLC pack, fans have the opportunity to immerse themselves in another great character and action-packed story from the DC Universe,” commented Jens Andersen, Creative Director for DC Universe Online. “With exciting gameplay, a new power set and new locations to share with your friends, we packed a whole new kind of fun into this DLC pack and are eager for our players to dive into another legendary adventure.”
All current and new characters will soon be able to take advantage of the new Electricity Power set which cover the Tesla Ball, the Shockwave and the Ionic Drain. Furthermore, gamers can earn new gear sets such as the new Black Lightning-inspired gear fashioned for heroes as well as the new Zoom-inspired gear for the bad guys.
Lightning Strikes pack also endows new DC Universe characters like Static, Livewire, The Top, Black Lightning and The Trickster. These can be looked upon as new ‘Inspired By’ options. There is also a new story-driven adventure to watch out for complete with quick combat and scenic locations. The introduction of The Flash offers players an opportunity to battle alongside or against him.
DC Universe Online’s Lightning Strikes DLC pack is expected to release later this year, according to SOE. The game’s Legendary players can access it absolutely free of cost while other can pick the pack up for 9.99 USD (approx. Rs. 512) via the PlayStation Network Store.
