Q3 of this year will see Microsoft releasing Gears of War 4, one of the most anticipated games of the year. And by the looks of it, this title is all set to meet the expectations of fans, even as interesting details about its characters, story as well as gameplay have been revealed.
Gears of War 4 will have JD Fenix as its protagonist. If that name rings a bell, he happens to be the son of Marcus Fenix, the lead character from the last three main entries to the series. He will be accompanied by Kait Diaz and Delmont ‘Del’ Walker.
We know that by now you’re already thinking ‘where’s my fourth character?’ Unfortunately, the developers have chosen to go with just three, thus leading to just two-player co-op (local and online) having made it into Gears of War 4. Player 1 will be JD Fenix, whereas player 2 will be able to choose between Diaz or Walker. Choosing either will see slight story differences as the game progresses.
As revealed by Game Informer through its latest issue, this offering has its story set on planet Sera, 25 years after the events that transpired in Gears of War 3. The game itself will take place over the period of 24 hours.
After the huge weapon in Gears of War 3 killed all the Locusts, it even resulted in exhaustion of the planet’s fossil fuels. With only a few thousand people left on Sera, the COG forces have rounded everyone off and put them in walled structures. This results in the formation of a new rebel group called The Outsiders, which prefers to stay outside of the walls.

Gears of War 4 still doesn’t have a release date, but what we do know is that it will be coming exclusively to the Xbox One. Unless of course, Microsoft decides to launch it on PC as well.
