Today marks the North American release date of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for a variety of platforms except for the Xbox One. But despite this, the game can be downloaded now for the Microsoft console without much trouble. This is particularly embarrassing for its makers because they had announced earlier that this version has been delayed without mentioning any reason for the same.
As Eurogamer reports, gamers started obtaining digital copies of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 this morning through the Xbox Games Marketplace site as well as the Xbox One dashboard. It can be downloaded through the US versions of these portals in exchange of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs 3,625). Some owners of the Microsoft console have already started streaming the title’s gameplay via Twitch. Physical Xbox One copies of this game still remain unreleased though.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is supposed to be out today for the PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Wii U, PC and the 3DS in North America. It is sort of a tie-in to the Sony flick of the same name which has already hit theaters worldwide. It features a different story though, and a number of villains from the Marvel universe. This title adopts an open world approach to its gameplay, and grabs a fresh web-slinging mechanic as well.
