The game won’t be out until November 6, 2012, but hardcore fans will have something to dive into on October 22, which is the date on which the Halo 4 soundtrack will be released. Apart from the original soundtrack, a Special Edition Remix Album of the music will also be doled out with added contents that take its price up to 75 USD (approx. Rs. 4,135).
Famed composer, Neil Davidge is writing the score for this upcoming title. The original soundtrack will be released digitally as well as in the form of physical copies, and it will feature 15 tracks and over 75 minutes of music created for the game. Moreover, those who buy the Halo 4 soundtrack in physical form will be able to get for themselves a free download voucher redeemable for three exclusive remix tracks and three additional songs by Davidge that are not included on the soundtrack but featured in the title.
Neil Davidge, the music composer of Halo 4, shared, “It was an honor to compose and produce the ‘Halo 4’ score. I am so proud of the way the OST has turned out and to have had the opportunity to evolve the great legacy of ‘Halo’ music. To be able to then collaborate with these talented DJ’s and musicians on various remixes was a real bonus as it is always fun and interesting to see how others interpret and reimagine what you have created.”
The Special Edition Remix Album on the other hand, is a completely different deal. It is a 2-disc box set which, apart from the original soundtrack, will also contain a remix album produced by Davidge along with world-renowned artists like DJ Skee, Sander Van Doorn, Gui Boratto, Caspa, Apocalyptica, Hundred Waters and more.
Besides, it will even comprise an exclusive behind-the-scenes video of the title’s music. This DVD will contain 70 minutes of footage containing interviews and recording sessions from Abbey Road. A hardcover book featuring production and composition notes, photos as well as exclusive artwork images will also be kicked into the Special Edition Remix Album. Other contents of this pack include a 12-inch vinyl full color picture disk of Master Chief and Cortana in a sleeve bag and an avatar t-shirt download.
The basic Halo 4 soundtrack will be priced at 14 USD (approx. Rs. 770) upon its release on October 22, while the Special Edition Remix Album will go for 75 USD (approx. Rs. 4,135).
