Halo 4 to Feature Score from Massive Attack Producer, Neil Davidge

Halo 4 is expected to release exclusively for the Xbox 360 during this holiday season, and fresh news regarding the game is that developer 343 Industries has roped in Massive Attack producer Neil Davidge, to score its music. Apart from producing the music of the band, he has also been credited for co-writing the last three albums of Massive Attack.

Davidge has been in the music industry for the past two decades, and is said to have pioneered an entire genre of contemporary music. Moreover, he has even established a career as a film composer by writing music for a number of documentaries and Hollywood flicks including the 2010 fantasy action film, Clash of the Titans.

“Neil has a deep love and appreciation for the ‘Halo’ universe, and the music he’s composed perfectly captures the heroic spirit and emotional power of Master Chief’s story,” commented Sotaro Tojima, audio director for Halo 4. “Neil is a remarkably talented composer who has a unique vision for the future of ‘Halo’ music, and I’m confident his work will spark the passion and excitement of a whole new generation of fans.”

The video we’ve posted above is a behind-the-scenes footage of the game’s music composing process. It features a choir and an orchestral recording session at Abbey Road and Angel Studios in London. This is the first game in the Halo series to be entirely developed by 343 Industries, with the earlier ones having been created by Bungie.

Halo 4 is now available for pre-order through various retailers at a price of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,090).
