Quake 4 Re-Releasing for Xbox 360

Back in 2005, when the Xbox 360 was outed worldwide, Quake 4 was one of its many launch titles. Since then, the game has made its way to a number of other platforms including Mac, Linux and PC through retail as well as Steam. And now, publisher Bethesda Softworks has announced that the title will be re-released for the Xbox 360 this June.

The game will be offered at a revised price this time around. Newly placed at 19.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,030), the cost is now the same as the Steam version’s which went live last August. Created using id Software’s id Tech 4 engine – the same one used for Doom 3, the title acts as a sequel to the storyline which was put forward by Quake 2.

“If you didn’t pick up an Xbox 360 at launch, it’s possible you might have missed out on one of the system’s best launch titles, QUAKE 4. With it becoming harder and harder to find a new copy of the game, we’re happy to announce we’re re-releasing to retail at a low price of $19.99.360 players can unleash their inner Strogg on Tuesday, June 19th in North America. In Europe, the game will be arriving in the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Benelux territories,” read a post on Bethesda’s official blog.

This first-person shooter contains single-player as well as multiplayer offerings with modes like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Tourney, Capture the Flag, Arena CTF and DeadZone. Its arena-style battles are fought with the support of an elite squad.

The re-released Quake 4 will hit store shelves on June 19, 2012 with its price tagged at 19.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,030).
