Microsoft and Epic Games are yet to release the much touted Horde Command Pack and the two have already showered us with details regarding another DLC named RAAM’s Shadow which is on its way to Gears of War 3 this December. Three hours of gameplay set in a storyline that precedes events of the first Gears of War title are apparently on offer through this DLC.
RAAM’s Shadow is also said to contain six new multiplayer characters, the Chocolate Weapon Set and an additional 250 Gamerscore. The extra campaign content will spawn players in the middle of the events that transpired during Sera post-Emergence Day.
The Zeta Squad is required to evacuate Ilima City and protect the citizens against a Locust Kryll storm. Gamers will be pitted against General RAAM from the first Gears game and will play as a team which includes Michael Barrick (Gears comics), Minh Young Kim (Gears 1) and Tai Kaliso (Gears 2), and a new female comrade named Alicia Valera. What’s the most surprising part of this DLC is that there shall also be a point in the campaign when players will be needed to assume the role of RAAM himself.
“When we announced the ‘Gears 3’ Season Pass, we immediately started getting hundreds of questions from fans about what the game add-ons would be. We’re really excited to be lifting the curtain on the first two releases, first with the ‘Horde Command Pack’ and now with ‘RAAM’s Shadow,’ which gives fans a new perspective on the ‘Gears’ universe and is also the biggest DLC release we’ve ever made,” shared, Epic Games Design Director Cliff Bleszinski.
The Horde Command Pack for Gears of War 3 will be made available to gamers on November 1. New maps, three new playable characters, two weapon skins and additional achievements worth 250 Gamerscore are supposed to be a part of this DLC. Also announced for the game is a Season Pass which currently retails on Xbox Live at 2,400 Microsoft Points and claims to offers 30 percent discount on all the content which will be launched for the game.
Fans will be able to download the RAAM’s Shadow DLC for Gears of War 3 on December 13, 2011. It will be priced at 1,200 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live.
