Double Dragon Hits 3DS with This Week’s Nintendo Downloadable Games

3DS owners can gear up for some street brawls even as Double Dragon releases exclusively for the device with this week’s Nintendo downloadable games. Apart from that, only two new games have been launched, with all other content comprising videos for the Nintendo Video service. Also, this is the first time that gamers would be able to purchase these videos and keep them on their devices for as long as they wish.

Double Dragon

Double Dragon is the 3DS version of the Game Boy classic which involves players fighting their way through ‘hordes’ of enemies. Billy must wield punches, kicks and throws so as to save his girlfriend Marian. Various enemies, boss battles and weapons would also be a part of this title.

The only other handheld game in this week’s list is Castle Conqueror – Revolution which is available for both the 3DS and the DSi. Said to be equipped with RTS and RPG elements alongside ‘advanced’ AI, this title places gamers in the shoes of a military genius who must protect people on his island from the evil Empire.

A WiiWare named Fish Tank also makes its way to Nintendo downloadable games this week. This title is apparently a combination of Match 3 and puzzle genres of gaming, but with a twist. Instead of matching gems or blocks, players collect shoals of colored fish and moreover, the gameplay orientation is horizontal rather than vertical. It can be purchased by Wii users at 500 Points.

It is the first time that Nintendo is giving away downloadable versions of the videos released for its service. The Pig Who Cried Werewolf and Night of the Living Carrots can now be acquired at 1.99 USD (approx. Rs. 99) each for the 3DS. Another video titled Night of the Living Carrots Part 2 is also available for viewing currently.
