Xbox One finally manages to beat PS4 sales in US and UK

In a first of its kind news report, we can declare that Microsoft’s Xbox One console has finally managed to outsell Sony’s PS4 in the US and the UK as far as sales from November are to be considered. This will come as a great news to the folks over at the company owing to the fact that the new-gen PlayStation has been constantly outselling it since their respective launches in November last year.

Mike Nichols, the corporate vice president of Xbox marketing revealed that the month of November set a new record for sales of Xbox One, and that it was the best-selling console in the US and UK. He also went on to say that the response to the holiday lineup of games for the console has been ‘incredible,’ with more titles having been bought for the Xbox One in the US than for any other eighth-gen platform.

The VP has furthermore mentioned that more people have logged into their Xbox Live accounts through both the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 in November than during any other month in history. Microsoft unveiled the console in May last year, but this launch was met with extreme backlash from fans owing to the many restrictions that the machine brought with it. This forced the company to abandon a number of these limitations, and the anger among fans finally mellowed down.

But the console still shipped with the Kinect accessory which meant that its price had to be kept at $499, as opposed to that of the PS4’s $399. This also affected the sales of the system a great deal, and Microsoft was forced to release a Kinect-less bundle to bring its retail value on part with that of Sony’s console.

And it’s in November 2014 that the Xbox One has finally managed to catch up with the PS4, taking one whole year for the whole year to achieve this milestone.
