Details regarding the price and release date of the PS4 have apparently bypassed Sony’s heavy secrecy standards, and it has come to light that the upcoming console will be hitting markets in the US during November 2013, with a tag of 429 USD (approx. Rs. 23,200) and 529 USD (approx. Rs. 28,600). These two values apply to a pair of Wii U-like SKUs that the company will be launching. As far as the unveiling is concerned, as we know, it is expected to take place late tonight at the PlayStation event in New York.
Kotaku has broken this latest piece of PS4 information, and the website itself has cited a ‘reliable source’ as its basis. Apparently, it is the same source which had earlier outed the fact that next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft have been codenamed Orbis and Durango, respectively. Although the source has managed to disclose the retail values of the new console, it has even mentioned that these plans could change in the future.
Earlier this month, we got a glimpse of how the new controller for this gaming system could look. And now, we have even more possible information about the hardware. It seems, gamers will be able to control the console remotely using their smartphones and tablets. It is even being said that players will be able to buy title and set them on download through this method, while also chatting with their PSN friends.
The leaked prototype of the controller had suggested that Sony might have merged its PS Move accessory with it. Moreover, it houses a plain white surface on its front that is being hailed to be a touchpad like the one seen on the back of the PS Vita. The final device to be unveiled by Sony is expected to be a lot different than the leaked one, but for now, we have a fair idea of what to expect.
