Unsurprisingly, Capcom had Resident Evil news in store for fans during its first-ever E3 showcase. We also got a few Monster Hunter updates, aside from some eSports news. But that was about it for the Capcom event. No big games were announced for new-gen consoles. Let’s have a look at all that was revealed by the publisher yesterday.
Resident Evil Village
We were told that Resident Evil Village is getting DLC, but unfortunately, we don’t know anything about it. Neither the premise nor a release timeframe has been shared by Capcom. All we know is that the expansion has entered into production “by popular demand.” Coming in July is the game’s free multiplayer component, called Resident Evil RE:Verse. It will let you play as Resident Evil characters throughout the series.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings Of Ruin
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings Of Ruin got a new trailer, highlighting the game’s protagonist, Red. June 25 is when a demo version of the game will be launched, while its full release is planned for July 9. Capcom has announced that a collaboration event with Monster Hunter Rise is on the cards from June 18 onwards.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles
Two Japan-only Ace Attorney games are on their way to the West through The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Both these games feature period settings and take place in Victorian London and Meiji-era Japan. July 27 is when this compilation will be released for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC.
And that’s about it for Capcom’s E3 highlights. The company also dedicated some time to an eSports update, which included a brief showcase of the Street Fighter V competitive scene, including an introduction for The Capcom Pro Tour 2021 which will lead up to The Capcom Cup.
