Square Enix E3 Highlights: Final Fantasy, Black Panther, And More

War For Wakanda DLC

After Microsoft and Bethesda’s conference, it was time for Square Enix to showcase its upcoming games and the publisher did have quite a few surprises lined up. The games that were announced include a new hack and slash Final Fantasy spin-off and a sequel to the mobile-focused Hitman Sniper game. Let us show you all the highlights from the show.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy | Gameplay First Look

The panel kicked off with a look at Guardians of the Galaxy, a single-player experience that puts you in the rocket-powered shoes of Star-Lord. This Eidos Montreal offering is slated for an October 26 release on last-gen and new-gen consoles, as well as PC.

Marvel’s Avengers: War for Wakanda

There was some more news for Marvel fans. The Black Panther DLC for Marvel’s Avengers finally got a trailer and it looks exactly like the kind of thing that’ll get players back into the game. It will be released in August this year.

Hitman Sniper: The Shadows

Hitman Sniper: The Shadows | E3 World Premiere Trailer

Hitman’s smartphone jump in 2015 was quite an enjoyable affair and this sequel promises to bring more of the same. However, instead of having you play as Agent 47, it introduces five new assassins called The Shadows. The game hits Android and iOS later this year.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin

This is Square Enix’s attempt at creating an even more action-oriented Final Fantasy experience than the recent games. In fact, it looks like a straight-up hack and slash offering. You can now have a go at the game’s demo version that’s available for free, exclusively to PS5 users. It is coming to the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC in 2022.

FINAL FANTASY PIXEL REMASTER | E3 Teaser Trailer

Revisiting old Final Fantasy games has become a norm now but hardly anyone is complaining. The first six games from the series will get the ‘pixel perfect’ remaster treatment from Square Enix. They will be made available on mobile platforms and Steam in the near future.

Babylon’s Fall

BABYLON’S FALL | E3 2021 Trailer

This was a surprise announcement at the conference. Coming from Bayonetta maker PlatinumGames, Babylon’s Fall has you teaming up with other players while tackling challenging dungeons in an attempt to scale the titular tower. It is a live-service game that will receive a range of post-launch game modes at no additional cost. You can sign-up for a closed beta now.
