Nintendo had quite a few announcements lined up for its Direct showcase during the E3, with a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild being the headliner. We also got new information and trailers about several other first-party and third-party games. Let’s take a look at all the highlights from the showcase.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel
The stunning new trailer for this upcoming offering gave us a first look at some of the new powers, enemies, and gameplay elements that will make their way into the game. As you can see, it will give you the ability to visit floating islands. The game comes out next year for the Switch.
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania
Sega is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Super Monkey Brawl by releasing this remaster of sorts that will also come with new content. Arcade fans will be able to play it on new-gen and old-gen consoles, as well as PC from October 5 onwards.
Mario Party Superstars
A new entry to the series, Mario Party Superstars comes with 5 classic boards and a hundred minigames. Online play will be possible in this game when it releases on October 29 this year on the Switch.
Metroid Dread
The much delayed Metroid Prime 4 is still under development, as confirmed by Nintendo. However, this trailer is for a brand new 2D game called Metroid Dread which hits the Switch on October 8.
WarioWare: Get It Together
The popular minigame series will be getting a new entry on September 10 on the Switch. This sequel will come with a new two-player mode that sees players competing or collaborating on a single screen.
Shin Megami Tensei 5
In this Switch exclusive, you play a high school student living in Tokyo who ends up pulled into a different dimension. Its interdimensional and post-apocalyptic frenzy will be accessible to you from November 12 onwards.
Life is Strange
The latest game in the series, Life is Strange: True Colors, was announced earlier this year for other platforms, but it will now also arrive on the Switch on September 10. Same is the case for the Remastered Collection of past games, but we don’t have a release date right now.
Danganronpa: Decadance
This compilation is all set to bring three games from the franchise to the Nintendo Switch later this year. These include Trigger Happy Havoc: Danganronpa, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony.
Other Nintendo news
To celebrate The Legend of Zelda’s 35th anniversary, Nintendo will be releasing a limited edition Game & Watch console with The Legend of Zelda, Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening installed on it. The company also announced that Kazuya from the Tekken series will be the next big addition to Smash Bros Ultimate. Wii U hit Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is getting a remastered version for the Switch, whereas the first DLC for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has also been announced. It is coming on June 18.
