Limbo has taken the Android leap now, available on Google Play store

Just when we though Limbo has reached every possible platform it could run on, out has come its Android version which can be bought now through the Google Play store. The creepy side-scroller costs Rs 310, and if you want our word on it, it’s worth every single penny you’ll pay for it. The control scheme on this version is same as the one used by its iOS variant, and is as simple as swiping left, right, down or up.

Limbo

Limbo tells the story of a boy who has lost his sister and has woken up in limbo only to find himself in an extremely dangerous environment which he needs to survive. It’s a 2D platformer that’s highlighted by its monochrome visuals and its minimal ambient sounds. The game is filled with scary elements and exciting puzzles which you need to solve in order to help the boy reach his lost sister. Although it’s said to be compatible with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean devices and up, it only seems to be running on high-end handsets and tablets at the moment.

Back in July 2010, Limbo was first released by Playdead Games as an Xbox Live Arcade title for the Xbox 360. The immense popularity it received resulted in ports for the PS3 and PC being released in the following year. In the same year, a Mac version was also outed, while a Linux port was launched in 2012. The year after that saw the game being brought onto the PS Vita and iOS devices. Moreover, it also exists as an Xbox One port which was given away for free to some of those who purchased the console on its original launch day.
