Free-to-play Pac-Man + Tournaments hits Google Play store

A new free-to-play offering titled Pac-Man + Tournaments has landed on the Google Play store, letting Android users download and enjoy the classic one-of-a-kind game. Apart from the usual arcade mode, it also comes equipped with a number of other features that include tournaments and achievements. Coming from none other than Namco Bandai Games, this title was launched just yesterday, and can be gained now by those who own devices infused with Android 2.2 and above.

Pac-Man + Tournaments

Although the core game is free, Pac-Man + Tournaments contains micro-transactions. A unique control scheme has been granted to the gameplay so as to make the title relevant for touch-based interfaces. It involves either swiping fingers across the screen to move the creature in the desired direction or using a small arcade-like lever placed at the bottom of the screen. Either way, it becomes extremely toiling for fingers to perform so much of work in such quick succession. At least this is what we experienced while we had a go at it for a few minutes.

Those longing for the classic arcade gameplay can start with playing it in its original form. As for those looking for some more challenges, there’s the Tournaments section which they can dive into. This feature claims to proffer new tournaments on a regular basis, alongside fresh mazes and color schemes. Interestingly, real world prizes such as plush toys are also part of the whole affair apart from other bonus items that can be won.
