The first ever Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag gameplay trailer has leaped forward, carrying in its tow important aspects about the game which fans were eager to know about. Besides, there is news about its special editions as well. Not one, not two, but a total of five different ones have been unveiled by Ubisoft, with four of them having been disclosed for the EMEA region and one for North America. A new VIP program dubbed The Watch has also been unveiled by the developer.
But let us first begin with the Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag gameplay trailer that’s all the rage currently. Interesting aspects such as key locations in the game have been revealed through it. Havana as well as Kingston can be spotted in the video, while there’s a fair deal of familiar AC-style combat to be seen as well. Apart from new moves, the lead character will also get the ability to dive underwater and battle sharks. Naval battles will of course form part of the game.
Surprisingly, all the special editions that have been unveiled till now will be made available for all platforms that the game is slated to hit. These include the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii U as well as the PS4. First, let’s take a look at what the North American GameStop Edition has in store for us. It features a ‘dark and dangerous’ treasure-hunting quest known as Black Island, apart from in-game stuff such as the Black Ship, silver flintlock pistols used by Captain Morgan and multiplayer items like Captain Morgan’s costume, picture and title.
For EMEA regions, The Black Chest Edition has been revealed as a Uplay-exclusive, and it contains a 55cm diorama of protagonist Edward Kenway, an exclusive SteelBook case, a high-quality artbook, the official soundtrack, 2 lithographs, 2 canvas prints, a collector’s box, a parchment world map and an original replica of the black flag. And that’s not all; it also comprises all of the game’s additional in-game content that will be available at launch.
Second in line is The Buccaneer Edition which will only be available at Game in the UK and Gamestop in Ireland. Its contents include a modified version of the Edward Kenway statue, the same artbook, a copy of the official soundtrack, 2 lithographs, a collector’s box and additional in-game content.
Then comes The Skull Edition which will be doled out through most of the retailers in the UK. It will ship with a jumbo steel case, the artbook, the official soundtrack, two lithographs and slightly lesser in-game content. Last among the lot is the usual Special Edition which will come loaded with nothing but in-game content.
The Watch VIP program that we’ve mentioned above is available only for customers who pre-order the title via Uplay, Game and Amazon in the UK or Gamestop in Ireland. It will grant them bonus content as well as a deeper look at the world of the much loved AC series. Moreover, its members will even be able to partake in an exclusive quest designed specifically for them.
Although all these details are out, price information of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag special editions hasn’t come to the fore as yet.
