Minecraft – Pocket Edition Introduces Crafting

Minecraft – Pocket Edition, the mobile version of Mojang’s iconic video game, has received a new update which proffers it with the Crafting feature that forms a major part of the original title. This aspect has been bundled into a new feature called MATTIS – Minecraft Advanced Touch Technology Interface System, and is claimed to make crafting on touchscreens an easy experience.

Gamers who wish to try out the trait will be needed to download the new update on their iOS or Android devices. Upon opening their inventory, they must click on Craft, choose their category and select the item they wish to craft. Apart from this, a few other fresh features make their way into Minecraft – Pocket Edition with the update. These include the introduction of refined AI for zombies as well as cows and ducks within the title. Moreover, damageable items also enter the game along with the ability to drop items from selection slots by press and hold commands.

“As you may remember with the last update for Minecraft – Pocket Edition we started to introduce the ‘Survival’ aspects of the game (health, mobs, day/night). We knew that the next aspect of the game needed crafting. So let me present: Minecraft Advanced Touch Technology Interface System (MATTIS). MATTIS will make crafting on the touch screens a breeze,” Daniel Kaplan of Mojang, wrote on the developer’s official blog.

The previous update for the game came back in January this year, and brought with it new animals and blocks, apart from other content and some bug fixes. The Pocket Edition for Minecraft was first released in August last year, exclusively for the Xperia Play. It was opened up to all Android devices only in October, while its iOS version was launched in November. Minecraft is all set to make its Xbox 360 debut next month.

The Crafting update for Minecraft – Pocket Edition can now be downloaded by all those who’ve purchased the game through Google Play or the iTunes App Store.
