“The backgrounds have been animated, we’ve added lighting modes, reactive backgrounds, the list goes on and on. We believe that there are a lot of people on the consoles who appreciate a great casual game play experience. This is a game that resonates across a wide audience on many platforms,” Rovio’s Executive Vice President of Games, Petri Järvilehto, told the website.

It is still unclear as to whether these versions will be eligible for the free level downloads that are doled out to owners of the mobile editions. A notable new addition to the games will be the introduction of individual online leaderboards for every level.

The Angry Birds Trilogy will be made available for the PS3, Xbox 360 and 3DS later this year. Rovio’s newest game, Amazing Alex will be launched for mobile devices tomorrow.
