Second Annual PSN Play Program Announced

July 24 will mark the beginning of this year’s PSN Play promotion which will offer deals on four upcoming games, namely The Expendables 2 Videogame, Sound Shapes, Papo & Yo and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. On this day, the first game in the lineup will be made available to pre-order, whereas it will be doled out in the following week. The same process will follow for all the four titles.

All those who pre-order a game will be rewarded with a PS3 XMB theme. Moreover, pre-ordering two or more of these games will entitle PS3 gamers to cash vouchers which will be redeemable on the PSN for purchasing other content. The details of this offer can be spotted in the image above. For PS Plus members, each title from the PSN Play program will come with a 20 percent discount during its pre-order period.

“We’re very happy to announce the return of PlayStation PLAY, our annual summer program showcasing a diverse lineup of great PSN games and special offers. PSN PLAY begins July 24 on PSN when the first game in the lineup becomes available for pre-order, and we have all the info on this summer’s offering,” Pierre Gravereau, Senior Manager, Digital Distribution, mentioned on the official PlayStation blog.

The Expendables 2 Videogame, the co-op action shoot ’em up based on the upcoming movie, will be coming out via PSN on July 31. The following week, Sound Shapes will be released for the PS3 as well as the PS Vita, with both versions available at a single cost. Papo & Yo will hit the PS Store on August 14, while the much awaited Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be arriving on August 21 with PS Move support.

As mentioned above, pre-orders for the first title in the PSN Play program will commence on June 24, a week prior to its release. A similar promotion was also run last year by Sony.
