Nintendo E3 Press Conference: still more games for U – Part 2

While in part 1 of the Nintendo E3 press conference we talked about newly unveiled games like Super Mario Bros. U and Pikmin 3, which will all be published by Nintendo itself, in part 2 we take a look at the third-party lineup that is headed to the Wii U. Big publishers like Ubisoft, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, EA, Sega, THQ and Namco Bandai Games have unveiled their titles for the new console.

Final Wii U Hardware

Ubisoft has come up with a new first-person shooter called ZombiU which will be made available exclusively for the Wii U. In this game, players will be pushed into the middle of London circa 2012, where a zombie outbreak has infected the population. And of course, the Lara Croft studio has announced it will bring the much awaited Assassin’s Creed III to the Wii U, while it will even release Just Dance 4, a new installment in the popular series. Rayman Legends, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013, Sports Connection, Rabbids Land and Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth are the other titles to be launched for the Wii U by Ubisoft.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has introduced two new titles for the Wii U, namely Batman: Arkham City: Armored Edition and Scribblenauts Unlimited. While the former is an enhanced version of the original game with new gameplay elements that will take advantage of the GamePad, the latter marks the first appearance of the Scribblenauts series on a home console.

In addition, a number of other third-party games were revealed for the console. EA has said that it will bring Mass Effect 3 to the Wii U, whereas THQ will be releasing Darksiders II. And then there’s Aliens: Colonial Marines from Sega, and Tank! Tank! Tank! as well as Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (working title) from Namco Bandai Games.

The Miiuniverse which was unveiled by the Japanese company in the pre-E3 press briefing was detailed even more during the Nintendo E3 press conference. This new feature will enable players to use their Mii characters to enter the Miiverse and see games, applications or entertainment content which either they or their friends have interacted with recently. The Miiverse community will be usable as a tool to discuss gaming strategies and other things. This trait will be launched later on 3DS, PC and smartphones.

Other highlights of the Nintendo E3 press conference were the trailers of 3DS games like Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Expect more details regarding all the games in the near future.
