Fans of the ever so popular AC series surely have a lot to chatter about, as Ubisoft has officially taken the veil off Assassin’s Creed III which will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U on October 31, 2012. As indicated by the leaked images last week, this game will indeed have its story set in the backdrop of the American Revolution during the late 18th century.
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal in partnership with six other Ubisoft studios, Assassin’s Creed III will introduce a new protagonist to the series. Named Ratohnaké:ton, or simply Connor, this assassin is of Native American and English heritage. The title will place gamers in the middle of the American war for liberty against the cruel tyranny of the British colonists.
“Assassin’s Creed III features the franchise’s most expansive setting so far, along with an exciting new hero and exponentially more gameplay. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Assassin’s Creed or if you’re new to the franchise, you’re going to be blown away by the scale and marvel of Assassin’s Creed III,” revealed Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft.
The game is said to contain the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise till date, which will be delivered by a brand new engine named Ubisoft-AnvilNext. AC III is now available for pre-order on all platforms through UBIShop. Moreover, its latest artwork has also been made available via Assassin’s Creed Recollection, a real-time board game which is downloadable currently for the iPad.
Fans who wish to reserve their copies of this title can do so now. The game’s PS3 and Xbox 360 versions sell at 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,990), whereas its PC copies are priced at 49.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,490). The Assassin’s Creed III release date and price details for its Wii U version are yet to be revealed by Ubisoft.
