Call of Duty to Decline by 250 Million Dollars in 2010

The Call of Duty franchise did exceptionally well in 2009. The franchise exceeded the 3 billion dollar mark, and Modern Warfare 2 broke UK sales records for day one sales. Now Joystiq is reporting that according to IndustryGamers, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has predicted that the Call of Duty franchise might not contribute as much in 2010 as it did last year.

Pachter expects the Call of Duty franchise to show a year-over-year decline of as much as 250 million US dollars. But Activision Blizzard should still hold its shape in 2010, he believes, since the company is expected to receive a boost from Blizzard titles.

He also has a little something to say about music based video game titles and figures that in 2010 music based titles should continue to sell well with new console owners. But he expects revenue from such games to decline modestly, by about 50 to 100 million dollars.
