Dragon Age: Origins is the hit role playing game from EA released last year for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Now BioWare has announced that according to internal EA data, Dragon Age: Origins has sold over 3.2 million units worldwide, thus achieving triple platinum status.
“This is a tremendous start for the Dragon Age franchise and we are extremely pleased with the great reception the game has already received from critics and fans worldwide,” Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA exclaimed. “Our team is dedicated to crafting high quality, engaging new adventures and stories in the world of Ferelden for our fans!”
The game was highly acclaimed when it released last year, and has received content packs including Warden’s Keep and Return to Ostagar. An expansion pack for the game titled Dragon Age: Origins Awakening is scheduled to launch on March 16, 2010. This expansion pack entrusts players to rebuild the order of Grey Wardens and to uncover the mystery of how the darkspawn survive after the slaying of the Archdemon.
