Bruce Springsteen Comes Out with Guitar Hero Downloadable Songs

The Guitar Hero music video game series has some really exciting news for gamers. Bruce Springsteen is all set to mark his presence in the video game arena by debuting a new song ‘My Lucky Day’ and the classic hit ‘Born To Run’ on Guitar Hero.

The tracks will appear as exclusive downloadable content through Activision Publishing’s Guitar Hero World Tour. Including the historic ‘Born to Run’ song along with a new song called ‘My Lucky Day’, the novel two-song Track Pack will release around the same time the singer releases his new album called Working on a Dream.

Coinciding with the album’s release, the track pack will be available on Xbox Live for Xbox 360 along with the PS and PS3 systems. Owners of a Wii gaming system can avail the Track Pack as singles.

“Bruce Springsteen has been a defining force in Rock ‘n Roll and we are incredibly excited to have him make his video game debut with Guitar Hero World Tour.” mentioned Robert Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard.

Springsteen’s longtime manager Jon Landau further remarked, “Activision has been a leader in getting music to the public in new ways and we are very happy to have them making these two songs available to their audience.”

Taking music gaming to elevated heights, the Guitar Hero World Tour is augmented by the Guitar Hero’s signature guitar gameplay. It incorporates a band experience with improved wireless controllers and offline gameplay modes.

The series also allows two full bands to compete online. Additionally the game packs in a revamped guitar controller, drum kit controller, a wired microphone and a Music Studio music creator.

The Track Pack will be available as a free download from January 27, 2009 to February 4, 2009. Beginning February 5, 2009 onwards, gamers will have to shell out 320 Microsoft Points for the Xbox 360 and PS3 while Wii owners can avail the tracks as singles for 200 Wii Points.
