The Simpsons, which is one of the longest running and most watched TV show on the planet will soon be released as a movie. Along with that, Electronic Arts (EA) is expected to announce a game based on the popular animated series.
EA had bagged the rights to make video games based on the Simpsons way back in November 2005. Yesterday a mysterious site appeared which had the Roman numeral “XXII” on it. There was also a countdown clock that would terminate on Wednesday noon. The website basically did a parody on the recent GTA IV teaser site gimmick by Take-Two Interactive.
The website has been pulled down by EA, but the damage has been done. The Simpsons video game by Electronic Arts will be the first ‘serious’ title based on the dysfunctional family. Around twenty-two games have been made so far which are related to the Simpsons like the Simpsons pinball game and the Virtual Springfield tour game for the PC.
